It’s time again for another exciting “Schmidt Event” in Door County. Join Dennis, Jane, Brian and Ginger as we celebrate the Summer Solstice, explore Washington Island, and discover the “unexpected” on the Door Peninsula.

Our Home Base:

The Somerset Inn & Suites

Ephraim, WI

Rooms are $119.00 plus tax per night; deluxe suites are $129.00 plus tax per night.
*Two night minimum required*
When you register, be sure to state that you are with the Badgerland Miata Club.
The block of rooms will be held until May 21, 2018,

Continental breakfast will be served Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings from 7:00 – 9:00 am.

7:00PM:       Solstice gathering in Room 113. Please bring your own beverage as well as any snacks you wish to share.

8:00am:       Drivers’ meeting in the lounge by the indoor pool at The Somerset
8:30am:       Arrive at Washington Island Ferry
            Projected cost: Round trip ticket is $48.00 ($13.50 per person plus $26.00 per car)
9:00am:       Ferry departs

Jane & Dennis will lead us on a leisurely drive around Washington Island followed by lunch at Nelson’s Bitters Club (the oldest operating alcohol proprietor in the United States). We will have separate checks.

Following lunch you have “free time” to either further explore the island or return to the mainland.

4:30pm:      Early Bird dinner at The Chop, Sister Bay. We will order off a limited menu and pay with separate checks.

Cars will leave The Somerset at staggered intervals. Each car must complete the challenge individually by following the directions exactly. You will need a digital camera or smart phone w/camera. It is easiest if there is a separate driver and passenger in each car, but anyone is qualified to enter.

9:00am:       Drivers’ meeting in the lounge by the indoor pool at The Somerset
9:15am:       First car leaves
6:00pm:       Awards Banquet at The Log Den, Egg Harbor.
We will be served “family style” for $26.00 per person. Cash bar.

Breakfast at The Somerset (or your choice), then say our “good-byes” and head home.
