Dinner & Drive-In Movie Night
Saturday, Sept. 28th
Highway 18 Outdoor Theatre
W6423 Highway 18
Jefferson, WI 53549
Update #3 (September 15, 2024)
The best laid plans, as they say, often go astray - as it is with our Dinner and Drive-In Movie Night. Jim and I went to the restaurant to go over the details and found that they will be closed that night for a wedding. Oh well. After a bit of searching, we found another restaurant in the area, albeit a bit farther (20 minutes) from the Highway 18 Outdoor Theatre.
We now will meet at 5:00 PM at the Sullivan Saloon, 165 Main St., Sullivan, WI 53178. It’s a bit more laid-back than our original place - just the kind of casual place that’s perfect for our Miata outings! You can find their menu here: Sullivan Saloon Menu
From there we will take a 20-minute drive directly to the Highway 18 Outdoor Theater. This is their final weekend for the season and they have a special event, a Film Festival featuring Horror and Sci-Fi short films from Wisconsin's best filmmakers - and every one of them a World Premier. You will be able to vote for Audience Favorite and see which film will advance to international competition.
The cost per person is $15.00. There is a snack bar and restrooms. You may NOT bring in food or beverage, including water or alcohol. You will listen to the movies through your car’s FM speaker. If you do not have an FM radio in your car (I’m NOT talking about the ones we use to communicate with each other), there are the old-time speakers in the first 6 rows, but they cannot guarantee one will be available. Please read the theater’s policies before attending:

Update #2 (September 14, 2024)
We will meet at 5 pm for dinner at The Heron’s Landing Restaurant, 200 W. Milwaukee St. in Jefferson. The Heron’s Landing is located in downtown Jefferson, right off of Highway 18. The restaurant is on the bank of the Rock River, and the dining rooms offer scenic views of the Rock River, Rotary Park, and the historic downtown area. They have a Saturday night steak special, including prime rib.
Here is their menu: Herons Landing Restaurant Menu

Update #1 (August 28, 2024)
We will first meet for dinner at a Jefferson restaurant before heading off to the drive-in theater. Location and time TBD.
Sept. 28th is the last night of the 2024 drive-in season at the Highway 18 Outdoor Theater in Jefferson. They will end the season by hosting a Film Festival on both Friday and Saturday nights. The Film Festival will feature a series of short, 10-15 minute films from independent film makers throughout the country (mostly Midwest). The theme is horror, science fiction/fantasy.
The Jefferson Car Show is also going on this weekend, so you might want to do that during the day.
Watch this space for more info as it evolves.
